Personal Information

I was born in Fremont, Nebraska on December 30th, 1996. I spent my entire childhood in Fremont. I have had two liver transplants and I also have mild cerebral palsy in both of my legs. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, listening to and composing music for my accordion, and collecting things like model cars, flags of the world, and spare change. I have two older siblings, whom both are married and have at least one kid. My parents have two dogs, one golden doodle and one labradoodle. They are both girls and are named Brinkley and Tula.

Education

I went to public school in my hometown of Fremont up until I graduated from Fremont Senior High School in 2016. After I graduated from high school, I enrolled here at UNO as a college freshman in August 2016.

Major

I am an International Studies major and I am double-minoring in Russian and Geography. I chose the major I chose because I am passionate about learning about other countries, their cultures, peoples, and how different peoples interact with one another throughout the world. I chose to study Russian because I have dreamed about learning Russian for years and I enjoy learning about Russia as well as the countries that surround it. I chose to study geography because I love looking at maps and learning about landscapes and how peoples and cultures influence each other when they are geographically located close to each other.

All my travels

As far as international travel goes, I have been fortunate enough to visit Mexico, Canada, and multiple countries throughout western Europe including Germany, the UK, France, Ireland, the Czech Republic, Austria, Luxembourg, and Lichtenstein. Other than Russia, of course, I dream of visiting other European countries such as Italy, Poland, Ukraine, and the countries of Scandinavia and the Balkans in southeastern Europe. Outside of Europe, I would like to see Egypt, Algeria, Argentina, and Japan. Within the U.S. I have visited Washington State, California, Oregon, Florida, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Colorado, and Connecticut.

Why I'm taking this class

I decided to take this Travel Geography course because I am interested in learning how to plan a trip on my own as I hope to continue traveling throughout my life for both pleasure and hopefully, a job. I am also excited to learn more about the country or region that I choose for the course's big three-week itinerary assignment. Finally, I also believe that the skills we will be learning during this course of knowing how to plan a trip the cheapest, safest, and most enjoyable way possible is practical to have for future reference in case of one day going on a trip with friends or family.

Assigned videos

So far, the only video I have watched was the one on how to convert Microsoft Word documents to HTML. I found the link to the video on Professor Peterson's website and it took me to Youtube where I was able to watch the video.

I agree to post all assignments for this course on the web for the professor and other students to view.
