This is my hostel where I will be
staying at for the first three nights of my trip, October 9th-12th.
As indicated below, it is $6 per night which comes to a total of $18 for all
three nights.
In addition, my hostel is a
23-minute drive from Ministro Pistarini
International Airport, where I land when I arrive in Buenos Aires.
According to my calculations, my
hostel is located 17 miles from Ministro Pistarini International Airport and the drive from the
airport to my hostel comes to a total of $0.90 USD.

My second activity of the day will
be the Buenos Aires Pub Crawl, beginning at 10PM. This activity costs $25 USD.
It begins at Plaza Armenia in the Palermo neighborhood of Buenos Aires. After
performing distance and fuel cost calculations, I found that the Buenos Aires
Pub Crawl is a four-mile drive from my hostel that costs $0.21 USD. Between my
two activities, I plan to take a nap at my hostel to relieve some jet-lag and
perhaps drive around the city to get a feel for everything that’s around.

Day 4: 10/11/20: Second Day
Activities
My first activity of the day is the
Pope Francis Tour where I explore where the current Pope was raised. This tour
begins at 10AM and costs $65 USD. The tour lasts three hours and begins in my
hostel’s neighborhood of San Telmo, so I can
again walk to the tour’s starting point.
My second activity for the day is a
bike tour of the southern part of Buenos Aires. Due to my Pope Francis Tour
taking place in the morning, I will be participating in the 2PM bike tour. The
cost of this tour is $60 USD. Once again, this bike tour starts in San Telmo, so I’ll walk to get to the tour’s
starting point.
My cost of daily meals comes to $20.
Day 5: 10/12/20: Travel &
Lodging
Lodging:
This is my hostel that I will be
staying at in my second city of Bariloche, Argentina.
This hostel in Bariloche is 986.74 miles from my
hostel in Buenos Aires. I will be driving my rental car all the way from Buenos
Aires to Bariloche, which is a 17 hour and 55-minute
journey. I have decided to leave my hostel at 5AM on October 12th
and arrive in Bariloche at about 11PM. According to
my calculations, it will take 16.2 gallons of gas to get to Bariloche
from Buenos Aires. At the current exchange rate between USD and Argentine
Pesos, it is going to cost me $52.41 to make the journey.

Day 6: 10/13/20: Sixth Day
Activities
My first activity for the day is to go
fishing at this lake called Los Alerces. The lake is located about two and a
half miles from my hostel. It is about an eight minute drive. According to my
transportation cost calculations, the drive from my hostel to the lake requires
0.04 gallons of gas which costs me a total of $0.13 USD for the drive.
My second activity of the day will
be visiting Lake Nahuel Huapi
in Bariloche. The lake is located about 9.13 miles
from my hostel. It is a 22-minute drive. According to my calculations, the
journey requires 0.1 gallons of gas which costs me a total of $0.48 USD.
Visiting the lake is free of charge.

Day 7: 10/14/20: Daily Activities
Today’s activity involves
hiking the Circuito Chico path near Bariloche. This is an all-day activity. Circuito
Chico is located 11.9 miles from my hostel. According to my transportation cost
calculations, the drive to Circuito Chico requires
0.2 gallons of gas which costs me $0.63 for the drive. Hiking Circuito Chico itself is free of charge.

Day 8: 10/15/20: Travel Day and
Lodging
This is my hostel in Mendoza,
Argentina. It is located 752.48 miles from my hostel in Bariloche,
Argentina. I will again be driving my rental car between the two hostels, which
is a 14-hour and 5-minute drive. I plan to leave my hostel in Bariloche at 8AM and arrive at my hostel in Mendoza
somewhere between five and a quarter after 10PM. According to my fuel cost
calculations, the drive to my hostel in Mendoza requires 12.3 gallons of gas
which costs me $39.97 USD.

Day 9: 10/16/20: Daily Activities
My first activity of the day is a
tour of the Parque General San Martin located in Mendoza. Even though the
suggested visit time for this park is only about an hour, I will be extending
my visit by an hour or two to take pictures and explore the area more in depth.
Parque General San Martin is located about 1.06 miles from my hostel, which is
about a five-minute drive. According to my fuel cost calculations, the drive to
the park requires 0.02 gallons of gas, which costs me $0.056 USD. A price for
this tour was not found, assuming it could possibly be free of charge.
My second activity for the day is a
Vineyards with Wine Tasting in Mendoza wine tour that starts at 2:30PM. The
tour is four hours long, ending at 6:30PM. My tour will also be including two
other wineries located in Lujan de Cuyo and Maipu.
The winery that my tour starts at is located 1.18 miles from my hostel, which
ends up being a five-minute drive. According to my fuel cost calculations, the
drive to the winery only requires 0.02 gallons of gas which costs me $0.063
USD. After I return from my tour, I plan to relax at my hostel for the rest of
the evening.

Day 10: 10/17/20: Daily Activities
My activity for the day is going on
a horseback riding and meal excursion in the mountains of Mendoza. This
activity is an eight-hour, all-day excursion. The horseback ride and meal are
included in the $50 price. The starting point of my tour is at Patricias Mendocinas & Paseo
Sarmiento, located in Mendoza. This starting point is 1.55 miles away from my
hostel, which makes for a seven-minute drive. According to my fuel cost
calculations, the drive requires 0.03 gallons of gas, which comes to $0.082
USD. Once my day-excursion is over, I plan to return to my hostel and go to bed
early in preparation for another travel day the following day.

Day 11: 10/18/20 Travel Day and
Lodging
This is my hostel in Salta,
Argentina. It is 782.93 miles from my hostel in Mendoza. The drive between the
two hostels is a 15-hour and 2-minute drive. If I leave my Mendoza hostel at
8AM, I’ll arrive at my Salta hostel a little after 11PM. According to my
fuel cost calculations, the drive to my hostel in Salta requires 12.8 gallons
of gas, which comes to $41.59 USD. Once I arrive at my Salta hostel, I plan to
go to bed immediately.

Day 12: 10/19/20: Daily Activities
My activity for the day is an
all-day tour of the Salinas Grandes salt plains in Salta. My tour begins at 7AM
and lasts 14 hours. The price of this activity comes to $37.69 USD. From my
Salta hostel, I must drive to the city’s downtown area where a bus picks
me up along with the rest of the people in my tour group. From the downtown
pick-up location, the bus takes us to Salinas Grandes for the tour. The
downtown pick-up location is located about 1.3 miles from my hostel. According
to my fuel cost calculations, the drive downtown requires 0.02 gallons of gas,
which costs me $0.069 USD. After I return to my hostel from this activity, I
plan to relax the remainder of the evening until I go to bed.

My first activity of the day will be
visiting Plaza 9 de Julio, located in Salta. In the area, there is also a
Cathedral I can tour as well as a Town Hall and many shops, cafes, bars, and
museums to visit as well. I plan to spend the whole morning exploring the
plaza. Plaza 9 de Julio is located 0.68 miles from my Salta hostel, which makes
for only a four-minute drive. According to my fuel cost calculations, the drive
requires 0.01 gallons of gas, which costs me $0.036 USD.
My second activity of the day is
journeying to the top of Cerro San Bernardo hill in the afternoon. Taking the
“teleferico” (cable car) up to the top of
this hill is about $1.52 USD. The trip up the hill is 0.62 miles long. The top
of Cerro San Bernardo offers an amazing view of all of Salta. At the top of the
hill, there are cafes, snack bars, souvenir shops, and wine vendors. Cerro San
Bernardo hill is located 3.60 miles from my hostel. According to my fuel cost

me $0.19 USD. Once I am done with visiting Cerro San Bernardo, I plan to go

This is my hostel in Misiones,
Argentina. It is located about 895.39 miles from my hostel in Salta. The drive
between the two hostels is an 18-hour and 4-minute drive. If I leave my hostel
in Salta by 5AM, I should arrive at my Misiones hostel by a little bit after
11PM. According to my fuel cost calculations, this trip requires 14.7 gallons
of gas, which costs me $47.56 USD. Once a arrive at my Misiones hostel, I plan
to go straight to bed in preparation for the next day of activities.

Day 15: 10/22/20: Daily Activities
My activity of the day involves an
all-day excursion to Iguazu Falls, located in Misiones. The excursion is free
of charge. Iguazu Falls is located about 15.72 miles from my Misiones hostel,
which makes for a 39-minute drive. According to my fuel cost calculations, the
drive to Iguazu Falls requires 0.3 gallons of gas, which costs me $0.83 USD.
After my excursion is over, I plan to go straight back to my hostel and relax
once again before I go to bed.

Day 16: 10/23/20: Daily Activities
My first activity of the day is a
tour of the city of Puerto Iguazu, located on the border of Misiones, starting
at 9AM. The tour costs me $28.53 USD. The tour is three hours long, ending at
noon. During my tour of Puerto Iguazu, I will be seeing four of the city’s
main highlights including La Aripuca, Hito Tres Fronteras, Feirinha de Puerto
Iguazu, and Foz de Iguacu. The city is located 0.87
miles from my hostel, making for a short five-minute drive to the city.
According to my fuel cost calculations, the drive to Puerto Iguazu requires
0.01 gallons of gas, which costs me $0.046 USD. Once I arrive in Puerto Iguazu,
I plan to walk from my car to where my tour bus picks the rest of my fellow
tourists and I up.
My second activity of the day is
walking along the Costanera located in Posadas, the
capital of Misiones. This activity is free of charge. Later on in the day, the Costanera is a lively place to walk with people biking,
jogging, walking dogs, and vendors selling hot dogs on the street. Here, you
can also look across the water into Paraguay. Costanera
is located about 188.9 miles from my hostel, which makes for a four-hour and
one-minute drive from my hostel. According to my fuel cost calculations, the
drive to Costanera requires 3.1 gallons of gas, which
costs me $10.03 USD. After a few hours of walking and exploring the Costanera, I plan to return to my hostel and go to bed
early in preparation for another travel day the following day.

Day 17: 10/24/20 Travel Day and
Lodging
This is my hostel in Cordoba,
Argentina. It is about 877.38 miles from my hostel in Misiones. From my
Misiones hostel, it is about a 17-hour drive. If I leave my hostel in Misiones
by 6AM, I’ll arrive at my Cordoba hostel by about a quarter till 11:00
that night. According to my fuel cost calculations, The trip from my Misiones
hostel to my hostel in Cordoba requires 14.4 gallons of gas, which costs me a
$46.60 USD.

Day 18: 10/25/20 Daily Activities:
Today’s activity will be an
all-day hike through Cordoba’s Ongamira Valley.
This activity is free of charge as long as I do not decide to explore the Cerro
Colchiqui area of the valley, which is private
property, thus requires a fee to explore. From my Cordoba hostel, the Ongamira Valley is a little bit over a two-hour drive away-roughly
72 miles. Taking my rental car, the drive will cost about $4.00 USD in gas.

Day 19: 10/26/20: Daily Activities
The first activity of the day
involves a tour of the Cripta Jesuitica,
located in Cordoba. My tour begins at 9AM and is free of charge. This
attraction was originally built in the early 18th century by the
Jesuits. It was designed as a novitiate and then became a crypt and
crematorium. The Cripta Jesuitica
is located five minutes away from my hostel-less than a two-mile drive. Driving
there costs me about a dollar USD in gas.
My second activity of the day
involves seeing a live performance at Teatro Del Libertador
General San Martin. As indicated below, the theater is opened for shows from
9AM-9PM. I plan on seeing an evening show, probably after dinner. According to
my travel book, tickets to an event or performance could cost anywhere from
50-500 Argentine pesos. Of course, I’ll be choosing a cheaper event to attend.
In comparison to Cripta Jesuitica,
I expect the theater will be about a five-minute drive from my hostel, costing
me around one dollar USD in gas to get to.

Day 20: 10/27/20: Travel Day and
Lodging
This is my hostel in Buenos Aires. I
decided to end my time in Argentina in Buenos Aires because I wanted a good
night’s sleep the night before returning home. The drive from my Cordoba
hostel to my new hostel in Buenos Aires is a little over seven hours long, costing
me $23.14 USD in gas. If I eat breakfast, pack and leave Cordoba by noon, I
should arrive in Buenos Aires about a quarter after 7:00 that evening.

Day 21: 10/28/20: Daily Activities
My first activity of the day
involves a tour of La Catedral de La Plata, located
in La Plata, Buenos Aires Province. My tour begins at 11AM and costs me $0.90
USD. The cathedral is a 50-minute drive from my Buenos Aires hostel, costing me
$1.90 USD to get to.
My second activity of the day
involves a small-group city tour of Buenos Aires, beginning at 2:00PM. The tour
lasts till 5PM and costs $28.50 USD. Since the tour is located in Buenos Aires,
I expect the tour to start not too far from my hostel. I am guessing it will be
about a five-minute drive from my hostel, costing me about one dollar USD or
so. After the tour, I plan to return to my hostel and go to bed early in
preparation for my trip back to Omaha the next day.

Days 22-23: 10/29-30/20: Travel Days
My trip back to Omaha begins when my
plane departs from Ministro Pistarini
International Airport in Buenos Aires at 11:36AM. I plan to be at the airport
by 8:30AM.

at 11:45PM, I must rush to catch my flight to Omaha that departs at 11:59PM. At
last, I arrive home in Omaha at 8:46AM on Friday, October 30th.
